3 Steps When Choosing Keywords
Sep 11, 2017
Using texting keywords are one of the most powerful ways of capturing new leads and customers. But there a lot of simple mistakes made when picking keywords that can be easily avoided.
People usually don't get a lot of Keywords with most SMS Softwares (normally 1 unless you pay for extras) so when you're picking your keywords you need to make it count!
Here are 3 steps to choosing your Keywords
Short Key Words
Don’t make your keywords long. Long keywords make for easy mistakes when texting in and if someone doesn’t text the right word it doesn’t work. Short keywords make it easy for the customer to opt-in
Use 1 Word
Most texting platforms with keywords probably won’t let you use more than one word for your keyword. That doesn’t stop business trying to use more than one word by smashing them together. “Greatdealz” or “tryitout” are terrible keywords because peoples phones will auto correct that crap. Just keep it simple like “trial” or “quote”
Test your word
Test your word out before making it final. Try it on multiple phones to make sure your keyword doesn’t spell check to something else. Words like “hope” can spell check to “home” by testing your potential keywords you can avoid so many issues.
Keywords are a powerful tool to help you. If done properly they can be one of your most effective ways to find new customers. Use these 3 steps in creating and choosing your keywords.
